Huntington East Middle School
This state of the art facility combines the existing populations of Enslow Middle School and Beverly Hills Middle School. Located in the heart of both communities the new facility will house approximately 770 students. It’s contemporary design is home to a middle school curriculum layout familiar throughout Cabell County Schools. It is accented with metal panels and brick and highlighted with large amounts of glass that naturally light the classrooms.
The building and curriculum will boast of 6th, 7th and 8th grade teams that will compete against each other in energy consumption and be able to track through technology energy usage throughout the year. Through on-line learning and technology systems throughout the facility students will be able to also work with and compete with facilities throughout the world.
The building itself will become a teaching tool. A pulper system will be in place to not only consume kitchen waste but also all paper waste throughout the school. The students will be able to take this product and provide compost for the school’s vegetable gardens which will provide additional produce for the school. The facility will also include a Gymnasium, Cafeteria with a Stage, Art, Music, Band, Orchestra and Science facilities that are second to none.
